Teaching
What to expect
My classes can be strong, slow, quiet, funny, challenging, restful, or some strange combination of the above. I care about good teaching, clear cues, interesting ideas, and giving you enough room to have your own experience.
We start by checking into the body, the breath, the mind, and the heart. Four rooms to look into before you decide what you came in for. It's the one part I never change. Most of us arrive without having stopped to ask, and the answer is often not the one we assumed.
Then the whole class follows a single idea, from the opening through the cues and the meditation to an original poem I write for that week and read at the end.
I curate a practice that holds together the way a poem does, from the first breath to the last.
